Experience South Lake Tahoe’s food & wine culture at its finest; spend Labor Day Weekend like a local, “On the Run!” Located between Heavenly Mountain Resort and beautiful Lake Tahoe, the Ski Run Events Center provides a relaxing atmosphere and an incredible setting for the 3rd Annual Sample the Sierra, Farm-to-Fork Festival. The festival will pair together the region’s freshest produce with the best chefs and restaurants to create mouthwatering food samples that are perfectly paired alongside some of the best wines in El Dorado County. More than 12 separate tasting booths will provide locally grown food and an accompanying wine, enabling attendees to experience the bounty and heritage of our area. Meet the wine makers, restaurants, chefs and farmers that put El Dorado County and South Lake Tahoe on the map as a year round culinary playground. Discover skilled artists and artisans showcasing their handmade wares, all made within the Sierra Nevadas. Enjoy live entertainment including Cooking Demonstrations by participating Chefs, and live music by well-known local musicians.

While the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend will bring the best food and wine tasting to the South Shore, you don’t want to miss the other Sample the Sierra events scheduled throughout the weekend. Friday plays host to several Chefs’ Tables dinners throughout the area; Saturday is a day for touring the county as contributing wineries, farms and orchards get hands on with Sample the Sierra attendees. Sunday features the main event with the Sample the Sierra festival on Ski Run Boulevard, and the weekend culminates with a Fireworks Extravaganza over the Lake. A full list of Sample the Sierra events can be found on the website, along with tickets, lodging packages and more. Tickets to Sunday’s Farm-to-Fork Festival are being offered at a discounted rate of $25 while supplies last or through July 4th. Thereafter festival tickets will be $30.
