Boeger Winery was founded 1972, and they have been committed quality wine for those four decades. 90% of their grapes are grown on site, and they continually push the boundaries of winemaking, paving the way for other foothill wineries to follow. Greg Boeger was one of the state’s first producers of a varietal Merlot.  Today he is a pioneer of innovative blends, drawing from grapes of over 29 varieties that are all grown on the Boeger estate.  Boeger is a well know name in the Sierra foothills and we are excited to have them for the first time at this year’s Sample the Sierra festival!

For an exceptional treat, here is a recipe from Boeger’s website for Sue Boeger’s version of Paella.  Try it with the Tempranillo or Reserve Milagro, which is Tempranillo based, both perfect matches for this dish, as stated in the recipe. The Barbera, their flagship wine, is dominated by aromas of fresh raspberries, juicy plums, vanilla and hints of spice, and would also be a great accompaniment to this fabulous dish!
