Sierra Oaks Estates winery is dedicated to small-lot handcrafted wine. The winery is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada’s – directly adjacent to the vineyard. Winemaker Jim Brown closely monitors each grape as they ripen throughout the vineyard. When the grapes are ready, each cluster is hand-harvested by Jim and his crew. Harvesting by hand ensures that only the highest quality grapes are selected. Jim is hands one throughout the entire winemaking process. From destemming and crushing, to even labeling of the bottles of wine, his dedication to quality is what brings you some of the best wine in the region.
Winemaker Jim Brown suggests pairing lamb chops and mint jelly with all the trimmings with the classical 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon. A big luscious Cabernet Sauvignon with very nice mouth filling flavors of dark berry, a hint of mint, a nuance of grilled meat and a nice long lingering finish. The tannins in this wine give it a nice balanced structure. Look forward to more mouthwatering combinations at the festival!
