Lake Tahoe Cruises & Zephyr Cove Resort will be serving up their sustainable cuisine this Sunday at Sample the Sierra, South Lake Tahoe’s annual farm-to-fork festival. Serving American favorites and contemporary classics for breakfast, lunch and dinner, “The Lodge” at Zephyr Cove still has the same beautiful look and feel it did when it began in the early 1900’s. Set between the mountains and the Lake, amidst Tahoe’s iconic pine trees, it’s no wonder this restaurant has been named “South Shore’s Best” time after time.
It only seems fitting to pair them with Harris Tree Farms; a family owned and operated sustainable farm and forest. From Christmas Trees to Pumpkin Patches, the Harris Family has shared their commitment to the environment and the community through 7 generations and 150 years of history. On the Harris Family Farm in Pollock Pines, you will find flowers, organic fruits and vegetables, a gorgeous lawn, apple orchards and forested areas; a perfect location for your next big event.
Mount Aukum Winery, a nationally-recognized winery in the Fair Play region of Somerset, is the last component to this pairing. Known for their “bold, daring wines” that begin in their rugged, hillside vineyards, Mount Aukum wines include Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker Michel Prod’hon was born and raised in France, and so began his early infatuation with wine, especially the Italian and Rhone varietals. His years of experience in the vineyard have added a distinctive and award-winning character to Mount Aukum Wines.
These three are sure to satisfy your soul at their tasting booth this Sunday, September 2nd.
