Whether you’re a local or just taking a well-deserved vacation this Labor Day Weekend, you won’t regret beginning your weekend with a Farm-to-Fork Winemakers’ Dinner at Bumgarner Winery. Meeting at the winery itself in Camino, California, you’ll be greeted by beautiful views of a healthy vineyard and the breathtaking Crystal Ridge beyond it. Rich, deep green colors will wordlessly introduce Bumgarner Winery, clearly showcasing the diligent care and attention paid to these plants by Brian and Jennifer Bumgarner as well as their loyal family and staff. Highly selective with their wines, yet willing to experiment with flavors from time to time, Bumgarner truly exemplifies the potential of red volcanic soil and high elevations in the El Dorado County to produce truly remarkable and distinct wines.
Such wines will be carefully and ideally paired with delicious, high-quality food in a five-course meal prepared in the Wood-Fired Earthen Oven at Bumgarner Winery. Each course will be just as carefully selected and prepared as the wines themselves, each one made by the highly accomplished Chef Giovanni Gaudio. Raised by an Italian family and instilled with a love of the culinary arts– which only solidified after he spent 6 years hunting for sustenance in the Alaskan tundra– Chef Giovanni is a highly dedicated and accomplished culinary artist. Well-versed in Italian, French, and Japanese cuisine, Giovanni Gaudio has long been sought out as the owner of a restaurant, an occasional private chef/tour guide, and teacher of various cooking classes.
Between the Chef’s delicious meals finely crafted using the generous resources of Bumgarner Winery, the distinct and much-beloved wines produced in the vineyards of the winery, and the awe-inspiring sights of the El Dorado landscape, there are few better ways to begin a relaxing holiday weekend. So come to Bumgarner Winery this Labor Day Weekend, taking advantage of the chance to relax on the lawn there and enjoy the atmosphere that one Yelp Review refers to as “fresh, lively and vibrant…like a French cabin tucked away in the mountains of France versus El Dorado.”
Tickets are $85 and include a five course meal with wine. Space is limited, and reservations must be made by calling Chef Giovanni at (530)391-6980 or emailing ChefGiovanniGaudio@gmail.com.
