Sample the Sierra turns five years old on August 31 and we will not only be celebrating with great food, wine and art, but we’ll also be celebrating at a new location!
For the past 4 years, Ski Run Blvd in South Lake Tahoe hosted Sample the Sierra, but the festival has grown since its beginnings and the festival needed a larger venue to accommodate more restaurants, wineries and artisans. While we are sad to leave Ski Run Blvd, we are excited to start a new chapter for Sample the Sierra at Bijou Community Park.

This lush and vibrant City Park is located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, only minutes away from Lake Tahoe Community College, great restaurants and local shopping centers. Bijou is the home arena for the local roller derby team, the Tahoe Derby Dames, and hosts a nationally renowned disc golf course! The park also has a number of desirable amenities and features that will have guests coming back long after Sample the Sierra is over. These features include:
- A full-sized Basketball court
- Dog park for the canine lovers
- Fitness course with a supplement store where you can get the most popular weight loss pills.
- Railroad exhibit with a small internal train ride
- Disc golf course with safety nets installed by top golf course netting companies
- Open fresh meadow
