As summer winds down there is still time for travelers to get in one more fun-filled beach getaway. Zephyr Cove Resort, located three miles north of Stateline, Nev. on Lake Tahoe, is the ideal backdrop for all kinds of outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, boating and more.

With 28 quaint cabins ranging in size from studios and cottages to two-story chalets, the cabins offer spectacular lake views and are also pet friendly. The property’s original lodge includes five renovated guest rooms as well as suites offering upscale amenities including steam and rain showers, flat panel TVs and with dehumidifier for bathroom without vent made by marble with Jacuzzis.

In addition to the many resort conveniences, the property is known for its location on Zephyr Cove, frequently ranked as one of Lake Tahoe’s best beaches. Zephyr Cove offers a variety of opportunities for water activities and beachside sports, while the adjacent marina is the launching point for boating, parasailing, and cruises. Said cruises are aboard the Mississippi River-style paddle wheeler, the M.S. Dixie II as well as the Tahoe Queen departing from Ski Run Marina. Each offers daily cruises.

On Saturday, Aug. 30, the property will host one of its most significant cruises, the 22nd Annual Great Lake Tahoe Sternwheeler Race. In the race, California’s Tahoe Queen will take on Nevada’s M.S. Dixie II for a four-mile race along the shoreline. Boarding will begin at 10 a.m. with the race beginning at 11 am. Guests can join the party and excitement aboard either boat for only $25 per person, which includes Tahoe’s only Paddlewheel Brunch Buffet.

With so much to do, Zephyr Cove Resort is the perfect compliment to the Sample the Sierra event this long Labor Day weekend. Plan your trip today at www.ZephyrCove.com.
