Sample the Sierra, Lake Tahoe’s only farm-to-fork festival, returns for its 6th anniversary on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Bijou Community Park in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Since its incarnation in 2009, Sample the Sierra has showcased the unique talent and bounty of the Sierra Nevada through local artwork, regional produce and tastings from leading restaurants, wineries, breweries and distilleries in a one-day food and wine celebration at beautiful Lake Tahoe. Hundreds of vendors, ranging from top local chefs to beloved Apple Hill producers and El Dorado wineries, have participated in this one-of-a-kind festival that pairs farmers with chefs and chefs with wineries, breweries or distilleries. Over 1,500 people annually attend Sample the Sierra and festival goers will have the opportunity to sample the best food, wine and art the Sierra Nevada has to offer this Labor Day Weekend. With unexpected and delicious pairings, Sample the Sierra provides tastings of unique, locally grown food and beverages that are sure to entice visitors and locals alike.
In 2014, Sample the Sierra marketed to over 8 million people and was recognized in national media outlets including The Huffington Post and CNN.
