Restaurant Virtual Participation
Please fill out the following form to participate in the 2020 Sample the Sierra (deconstructed) Farm-to-Fork Festival. Deadline to enter as a participating restaurant is Friday, August 14.
Sample the Sierra Restaurant Week: Sept. 10 through Sept. 20
Virtual Festival Date: Saturday, September 12
Participating businesses will be promoted through our digital channels including SampletheSierra.com and our social media pages as well as through our local and regional media partners.
To be included and promoted as a participating restaurant in “Sample the Sierra Restaurant Week”, you must create at least one farm-to-fork menu item to be featured at your restaurant from September 10-20. Your menu item must feature at least one regionally sourced ingredient. You can expand on this concept in a variety of ways or you can keep it simple. The one requirement to be included is that you create a menu item featuring an ingredient sourced from regional farmer or producer.
Sample the Sierra will provide you with branded menu graphics unique to your business that you can post during the restaurant week promotion.
Menus must be submitted no later than August 28th to be included in promotions.
Sierra Chef Challenge
The Sierra Chef Challenge will be filmed and live streamed on our Virtual Festival Day, September 12th.
A production crew will be hired to film the competition and we will be following all the mandated social distancing protocol. There will be 3 chefs competing, 1 emcee to announce the challenge, and 3-4 judges to taste and score the dishes. The competition will be held at Bijou Park with no audience and will be aired on the originally planned festival date, September 12.
